At the beginning of the new millennium, Metin Mertaslan was one of the co-founders of a well-known forwarding company in Vienna. He had the task to build up an EU-Turkey line which did not exist until then. In just a few months, he had installes a permanent line of 4 trucks a week. Even then, a special vision "the purple lion" was pursued, which is still a pillar of the Nilcargo team today.

2005 Expansion of the business to the following neighbouring countries: Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan After approximately 2000 successful loads in a very short time, the routine route established itself and also enabled the continuation of the transports. to the neighboring countries.

2007 Expansion of the business segment: Iran and Iraq were implemented.

The Middle East was added in 2009. The business segment developed into a veritable bridge between Europe and Turkey and its neighbouring countries all the way to the Middle East.

2010: Foundation of the own company NILCARGO forwarding company in Vienna. With this step and with the engagement of additional employees the individual customer service for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries began.

2011: Establishment of a sustainable partnership (joint venture) with 3 well-known freight companies in Turkey. With the long-standing cooperation the partners agreed to continue exclusively with "Purple Lion".

2012: Foundation of the branch office in Istanbul. The branch ensured more efficient transport coordination. Our team in Istanbul manages the vehicle fleet and monitors order processing for export from Turkey.

2014: Start of acquisition of own trucks

2018: Certification according to ISO 9001:2015, SQAS and GDP. With the step to certification, the proof of professional quality is not only ensured by customer satisfaction, but also by a reputable accreditation body. This milestone is the recognition of the striving for customer satisfaction and quality. This is what we stand for with our name: "Purple Lion".
